Watkins Glen Railroad
This mini "pizza" layout was built by Sam Rehonic, the head small exhibits at SRM. His layout is about 24" x 25". Even though the layout does not look like much, this was when it was first made, and has been worked on since. I took these photos last year (2013) during model railroad days.
This layout is set in northern Georgia, but inspiration came from Watkins Glen, New York.
The freight cars (except for the box car) were either scratch built (the coal cars, the caboose (rebuilt from a pull back caboose), the gondola, and the flat), or modified by him (coaches, caboose). the locos were also modified: #1 was repainted by him, #2 was repainted, and #5 camelback was heavily modified from a Bachmann 2-6-0.
